Job Summary

Communications Assistant-SW

Purpose/Objective of the Role:

The student will assist in the operations of the OWU Sports Information department primarily providing assistance with statistics during home athletics events. The student may also assist with day-to-day office work as well as other communications efforts for the department.


Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Spotting and calling out plays as they happen during games providing information on statistics and players involved
  • Assisting with press box operations and statistics inputting
  • Distributing statistics and other information to teams officials and media
  • Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the OWU Sports Information department


Qualifications/Skills:

plays and communicate them clearly. The abilities to think quickly and be adaptable are helpful. General knowledge of sports and their differing rules and statistics is preferred. The student will be trained by staff for in-game operations.
