Commercial Surety Underwriting Regional Manager/Sr. Manager

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Surety Underwriting Regional Manager/Sr. Manager to lead a team. This role involves a combination of in-office responsibilities and travel within the assigned territory. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in underwriting risk assessment and team leadership along with a proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships.

• Analyze and interpret business reports including credit checks bank agreements and financial statements to support underwriting decisions.
• Oversee risk selection pricing retention growth and profitability for the branch office.
• Assess risk quality in alignment with company guidelines and standards.
• Review underwriting decisions and provide recommendations for extending surety credit including terms and conditions.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure effective communication across all levels.
• Lead coach and develop a high-performing team fostering accountability and achievement of objectives.
• Make timely informed decisions using independent judgment and initiative to support business goals.
• Uphold integrity and honesty in all professional interactions.

• Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience.
• Field of Study: Finance Accounting or a related discipline.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 9 years of related experience in underwriting or a similar field.
  • At least 4 years of management experience.
  • Progression toward certifications in relevant areas is preferred. Certifications may include:
    • Associate in Surety and Fidelity Bonding (AFSB)
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU)
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
