Collections Specialist

• Prepares delinquency or over payment notices and communicates the notice to the affected account(s).
• Maintains records and files on accounts.
• Reviews and process collection items and posts to accounts.
• Answers inquiries concerning accounts.

• Traces unpaid items to determine reasons for nonpayment or over payment and negotiates payment arrangements with accounts.
• Prepares various schedules and special reports.
• Balances collection totals and makes adjusting entries to appropriate accounts.
• Performs additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the role as assigned.

• 1 years of related work experience
• High school diploma (or equivalent)

• 1 years of related experience in collections customer service payment operations healthcare administration finance or a related field.
• Experience researching and resolving account payment or claim-related issues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly with varied internal contacts actively listen to clarify needs and ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
• Ability to recognize patterns in recurring issues gather relevant information and collaborate with others to implement practical solutions.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks across assignments manage time effectively and adjust to shifting workloads while maintaining accuracy.
• Experience working with healthcare claims collections overpayments payment reconciliation or cash management processes.
• Experience coordinating work assignments and providing operational support across teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems used for payment and account research.
• Strong problem-solving analytical and customer service skills.
• Performs additional responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the role as assigned.

Role designation definition:

• Teleworking is working full time remote.
• Hybrid is a minimum of 2 days onsite.
• Onsite is full-time onsite.

Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position including skills ability and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
