The Opportunity

Join Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University as a Collections Specialist supporting the Universitys student account collections this role you will manage delinquent student accounts work with inactive students to resolve outstanding balances and establish payment plans and coordinate the placement and resolution of accounts with external collection agencies. You will also support account reconciliations reporting write-off activities compliance and process improvement efforts.


This position offers an opportunity to contribute to accurate and efficient student account operations while collaborating with internal departments and external partners to resolve complex collections matters and improve processes and controls.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent level of education.

  • 13 years of related work experience preferably in student support.

  • Knowledge of collections student accounts receivables and reconciliation processes.

  • Ability to interpret and apply policies procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment resolve issues and appropriately escalate complex matters.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

  • Proficiency with financial student information and spreadsheet systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or familiarity with higher education student accounts tuition and fees and financial aid.

  • Previous office or administrative experience particularly in a customer service or financial setting.
