Coding Technician

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH)is seeking a HospitalistProFee Coding Technician to join the Clinic Coding Department someone who leads with skill compassion and a drive to positivelyimpactevery patient and family we serve.

Position Details

• Status: Part-time
• WorkShift:Days
• Hours:40 hours every 2 weeks
• This position is hybrid with some hours required on site for training and meetings.

What Your Day Looks Like:The Clinic Coding Department provides accurate coding per industry guidelines in a timely manner to support billing and collections for clinic operations.

As aCoding Technician you will be:

• Accurately applyingappropriatecodesfor both routine and complex procedures while maintaining standards for quality and production
• Reviewingand codingthe final diagnoses and procedural codes for professional services performed in the inpatient outpatient ambulatory services and foroutpatient clinic visits and proceduresusing current ICD 10 CPT and HCPCS coding books and other accumulated material guidelines from regulatory agencies
• Appropriately using modifiers resulting in correct first time claims submissions
• Assistingthe Clinic Coding Manager with audits of the professional component of the clinic outpatientand inpatient visits/procedures for coding appropriateness and/or patient concerns
• Maintainingopen communication with theClinic Coding Manager to relay documentation and/or coding issues impacting timely coding of assigned clinics

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent degree; completion of a nationally-recognized coding program(AAPC or AHIMA)
• Experience: 1 year of Hospitalistcoding experience preferred
• Skills: Organization ability to work in a fast-paced environment ability to multi-task
• Licensure/Certification: Must have AHIMA (CCA CCS CCS-P RHIT) or AAPC (CCP COC) to be considered for the position
• Physical: Ability to work at a computer 100% of the day
