• Perform welding on vessels and related components in accordance with ASME Section VIII AWS API ANSI and other applicable industry codes.
• Read and interpret blueprints weld symbols isometric drawings and fabrication layouts.
• Lay out fit and fabricate vessel components and pipe in preparation for welding and installation.
• Examine welds and workpieces for defects and verify conformance to specifications using measuring tools.
• Repair defects and discontinuities identified during visual UT or X-ray inspection.
• Perform repairs on vessels or tanks that fail inspection.
• Operate welding equipment and related fabrication tools efficiently and safely.
• Use thermal cutting equipment such as oxy-fuel torch and plasma arc equipment.
• Connect hoses and regulators for oxygen and fuel gas systems safely.
• Climb ladders and work from scaffolds when required.
• Report discrepancies and safety concerns to the shop foreman immediately.
• Maintain compliance with all safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
  
  

• Must be able to pass a 6G Code Welding Test.
• Proven experience welding vessels to code.
• Ability to read and build vessels from detailed print layouts.
• Strong knowledge of AWS API ANSI and ASME codes and standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify defects and non-conformance issues.
• Commitment to safety quality and teamwork.
