Position Overview
Corinth is seeking an experienced COBOL Programmer to support our Department of Defense (DoD) client.
Required Qualifications
Must be US Citizen.
Must currently hold or have held within the past 2 years an active DoD Common Access Card (CAC); equivalent PIV credentials from other federal agencies are accepted provided they are backed by a final favorably adjudicated Tier 3 (or higher) investigation.
Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification requirements (CCNA-Security GSEC Security CE SSCP CASP CE CISA CISSP (or Associate) GCED GCIH).
Associate degree or higher.
10 years experience working with COBOL programs integrated into enterprise systems.
Proficiency in ISPF and CICS for mainframe programming and application support.
Strong working knowledge of JCL Flat-Files CopyLibs and database updates including hierarchical (SUPRA) and modern database models.
Experience maintaining and enhancing applications using COBOL MANTIS JCL and Assembler programming languages.
Familiarity with mainframe utilities and applications such as File Master Test-rite and SAR.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams throughout the development cycle.
Experience providing Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) support for sustainment projects including development testing and maintenance of improvements.
Proven ability to compile accurate technical documentation and reports to support maintenance audits and user reference.
Hands-on experience with System Integration Testing (SIT) and System Acceptance Testing (SAT) including resolving Test Discrepancy Reports (TDRs).
Strong problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with technical and functional analysts and end users to understand emerging business opportunities and troubleshoot incidents ensuring effective IT application solutions.
Maintain and enhance system and application functionality using COBOL MANTIS JCL and Assembler programming languages.
Develop test and implement mainframe applications leveraging ISPF CICS JCL Flat-Files CopyLibs and both hierarchical (SUPRA) and modern database models.
Apply mainframe utility tools to support analysis testing and reporting activities.
Participate in requirements analysis design development and testing activities with other technical teams.
Compile and maintain comprehensive documentation reports and artifacts for changes testing and audits.
Work with experienced team members to perform root cause analysis and participate in peer code reviews.
