Hansen Talent Group is seeking a strong COBOL developer with in-depth experience supporting Mainframe applications. This role is open to remote candidates able to obtain a security clearance.
The COBOL developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of COBOL Mainframe applications working with CICS JCL DB2 and batch processing to support overall application performance.

The COBOL developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of COBOL Mainframe applications working with CICS JCL DB2 and batch processing to support overall application performance.
Duties:
- Participate in requirements gathering sessions to define business requirements and develop technical specifications. Provide technical input on application design and technical direction.
- Design develop and maintain COBOL programming.
- Optimize database operations working with Db2data flows queries and file processing.
- Support job scheduling and batch processing using JCL.
- Maintain CICS screens and online applications.
- Collaborate with EDI teams and nonhostapplication teams to ensure solutions align.
- Support unit testing and debugging prior to production.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in knowledge share sessions.
- In-depth experience working with secure high volume COBOL applications
- Hands-on work with Db2
