CNC Programmer Level 2

Level TwoCNC Programmerswill perform a variety of duties to include set up in the operation of computer numerical control type of machine tools such as CNC mills lathes Makino mills Swiss turning centersetc.A strong understanding of speeds/feeds of tools and their effects on manufacturing cycle times with various metals is responsible forreading and interpreting design blueprints programming the machines adjusting the machine settings for desired specifications and working closelywith operators andsetupmachinistof all levels.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Use computer software towrite and testcutting paths and programCNCmachines accordingly

• Adjust machine cutting paths or settings tooptimizeproduction whilemaintainingquality

• Partners with Manufacturing Engineers todeterminetoolsrequiredto cutmaterialsand program machines accordingly

• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with programs as they arise

• Partners with CNC Machinists for programming needs

• Loads and checks programming and setup

• Train other employees on operation and set up of machinesas necessary

Required Skills:

• Computerproficiency

• Ability to partner with manufacturing personnel

• Ability to readand interpretblueprints and technical drawings

• Ability to read programming instructions technical manuals and procedure manuals

• Ability to writeprogramming codeusing Mastercamfor 4 & 5 axis machineryand proficient inSolidworksa plus.

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to use all inspectionequipment

Mathematical Skills:

Proficient in basic algebra trigonometry and calculate figures and amounts such as area circumference and volume.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge ofadvancedcomputer be familiar withCNCmachining methods.

Required Experience:

7 year minimum experience in industry or related field.

Level of Education:

High school diploma/GED equivalentrequired. CNC MachiningBlueprintReading GD&T Shop Math certifications preferred.
