CNC Set-Up Operator
CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and
manufacture of precision instruments throttles marine products and accessories.
Position Requirements:
- Able to work 3rd shift.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand part specifications.
- Monitor machine operation during production runs identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure part quality meets specifications.
- Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain consistent quality.
- Document production data and maintain quality control records.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when operating CNC machines.
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code M-code).
- Experience with various CNC machine types (mills lathes etc.)
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers calipers dial indicators).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
- Familiarity with DMG Mori Lathes and Mills a plus.
Minimum Skills Knowledge and Ability Requirements:
- High School Diploma Certification or Associates Degree
- Frequently able to lift or move up to 35lbs.
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the workday.
- Frequent use hands to manipulate handle or feel material.
- Overtime may be required including weekends when necessary.
