- Independently operate one or more CNC mills lathes or other CNC equipment.
- Perform routine machine setups including loading programs changing tooling setting offsets and verifying first-piece quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints work orders engineering drawings and process documentation.
- Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments including calipers micrometers height gauges indicators and gauges.
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve cycle time quality and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot routine machining and quality issues and escalate complex problems as needed.
- Complete production documentation accurately.
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and maintain clean organized workstations using 5S principles.
- Follow all safety quality and company policies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 25 years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience performing machine setups and tool changes.
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Proficient in using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills.
- Experience with CNC machining and operation (preferably with precision complex tight tolerance components).
- Experience with Fanuc Haas Mazak Okuma Siemens or similar CNC controls.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure.
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a 10-hour shift.
- Frequently lift carry push or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently bend twist reach stoop and grasp.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery and measuring equipment.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery noise and varying temperatures.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Manufacturing production environment.
- Regular exposure to machinery metal materials and industrial noise.
- Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required to meet production demands.
