Your Mission:
As a CNC Machinist for Keel you will be responsible for operating CNC Machines in a job shop setting to manufacture complex tightly tolerance components ranging from small to large from print and to exacting quality and delivery deadlines. On the job training is provided as needed.
Available Shifts:
Day Shift: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
Night Shift: Monday - Thursday 4:15 pm to 4:45 am (Shift differential does apply)
Explore the Depth of the Role:
- Performs advanced setup operations and adjusts machine tools to perform operations from provided programs.
- Adjusts and checks out programming.
- Operates CNC machine tools to perform complex series of progressive machining operations on a diverse line of work.
- Adjusts speeds and feeds during operation.
- Works from programming instructions operational data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements material clamping methods machine calibrations and console settings for operations such as bore mill drill face thread and occasional profiling and contouring.
- Check parts for conformance to specifications.
- May run more than one unit simultaneously
- Other related duties as assigned.
Mission Readiness:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- An Associates degree in Machine Tool preferred.
- Specific evidence of supervisory training.
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in related position in the machine tool industry.
- Job Shop or Prototype experience.
- Experience in machining for a very diverse industry base such as: Mining Aviation Defense Rail Shipbuilding Heavy Equipment Gas & Oil and Machine Building.
- Experience in machining large and complex work.
- Ability to work from blueprints sketches and written specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal
Physical Requirements:
- May be required to stand walk sit reach/pull/push with hands and arms climb or balance stoop or kneel regularly.
- May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
