Unit Notes
CNA
- Patient Ratios: Memory care and skilled only; 2 CNAs per unit.
- Required Certifications: CNA; BLS preferred.
- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Sisters dont wear identification. Religious name and birth name they can choose what they go by (this typically is a challenge
coming in). There are 4 Friars and 1 Brother that live there in addition to the Sisters. SNF and Memory care: CHF HTN DM old strokes Alz Dementia total cares.
- Experience or Must have skills: 1 year of CNA experience. First time travelers are ok. Whatever the need is to provide the best care for the Sisters. Teamwork
Communication Respect.
- Job Duties: ADLs bathing call lights empty foley foley cath cares feeding/dining room assistance. Charting is by exception.
- Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: LPN RN.
- Shifts & Scheduling: All 8s 6-230; 2-1030; 10-630. Rotating schedule try to follow that but may need to move for PTO or FMLA. Facility asks for flexibility.
- Weekend Requirements: EOW.
- Holiday Requirements: If there is a need.
- Floating Requirements: Will be trained on all units and be expected to float throughout the building.
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any color of scrubs- solid colors.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: Try for 1 week on memory care and 1 week on Skilled; but may be cut down depending on the candidate.
