CMM Operator
Perform dimensional inspections and layout verification of parts assemblies fixtures and gauges using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other precision measuring equipment.
Follow established customer and internal inspection standards procedures and methodologies.
Coordinate and maintain calibration schedules for measuring instruments gauges fixtures and related equipment.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date calibration documentation and records.
Complete dimensional layouts of production parts according to established schedules and document inspection results.
Prepare accurate and timely inspection reports for quality and manufacturing teams.
Maintain measurement data and Statistical Process Control (SPC) information in electronic systems.
Provide inspection reports and measurement data to engineers toolmakers production leads and other teams to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Complete required forms reports documentation and correspondence using computer software.
Support quality safety housekeeping and continuous improvement initiatives.
Promote effective communication teamwork and a positive work environment.
Follow customer requirements quality management system procedures and established workplace policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings blueprints specifications reports work instructions and technical documentation.
Working knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency with precision measuring equipment including calipers micrometers height gauges and related inspection tools.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
2 years of experience in a quality or inspection role involving CMM operation.
Hands-on experience with PC-DMIS.
Experience operating Brown & Sharpe CMM equipment is preferred.
Experience performing dimensional layouts and maintaining inspection or calibration documentation.
Ability to communicate effectively and respond professionally to questions from management employees suppliers and customers.
Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to safely operate or work with slings hoists and related material-handling equipment.
Strong attendance punctuality and dependability.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate judgment and discretion.
Ability to manage multiple priorities organize workload and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime when required.
Proficiency operating CMM equipment and related measurement systems.
Understanding of how inspection accuracy and job performance impact product quality and customer satisfaction.
Ability to work effectively with others and maintain positive working relationships.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prepare read and interpret technical reports procedures instructions and guidelines.
Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Windows-based applications.
- Primarily based in a temperature-controlled inspection or quality laboratory.
- May require work on the manufacturing floor and interaction with engineering quality tooling production suppliers and other personnel.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work requirements as needed.
- Overtime or schedule flexibility may be required based on business needs.
