Job Summary
Conducts initial psychosocial assessment of new clients and reassessment for current clients. Performs collateral interviews as indicated. Conducts care coordination and/or crisis intervention. The assessment includes at a minimum an evaluation of the clients mental status social functioning financial situation cultural characteristics and family situation as well as clients strengths and current barriers to basic needshousing employment education and medical needs.
Hours: 20 hours per week; Wednesday 8:30 am to 12:30 pm; Thursday and Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
As a Clinician I - Assessment you will:
- Conduct initial intake assessments and screening for new referrals.
- Assist with crisis intervention and performs triage duties.
- Develop and update individual treatment service plans for clients and assist with case management of shared caseload.
- Provide ongoing therapy rehab and case management to clients on the ACT team.
- Provide crisis triage and evening outreach to clients.
- Manage database records to track referrals.
- Network with community providers to develop resources for our clients.
- Provide presentations about program to community providers to further knowledge of services provided by the program and qualifying referrals.

Our Intensive Mobile Psychosocial Assertive Community Treatment programs (Downtown IMPACT IMPACT Senior IMPACT and South Bay IMPACT) provide intensive community-based case management services for homeless adults throughout San Diego County. We deliver fully integrated services to clients diagnosed with a serious mental illness as well as individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance disorders.
Our programs utilize the evidence-based practice of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) to support our clients in the higher level of community care and to assist them in reaching their goals and living a life not dominated by mental illness. Our team is a model of care providing treatment rehabilitation and case management supports.

Education: Masters degree in a behavioral health-related field such as Social Work Psychology or Counseling required
Licensure: License license-eligible or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) required. Candidates who are eligible to submit their BBS application within 60 days of conferred Masters degree are encouraged to apply. Clinical supervision is available for this position.

Additional Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with a mental health population especially with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders is strongly preferred
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential
- Ability to work independently self-directed and highly organized
- This program is housed in a two-story building that does have an elevator; however ability to navigate stairs may be required.
- A valid California drivers license in good standing personal vehicle proof of insurance and eligibility to be an approved CRF driver is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office
- Ability to pass criminal/background clearance
