Job Summary
The Clinical Transporter I
- Transports non-monitored patients (via wheelchair bed stretcher transport chair transcart and other transportation devices) specimens charts films and equipment to and from designated areas within the hospital.
- Transports calls responded to arrived at as well as completed within expected TAT for transportation department in a customer friendly manner.
- Collaborates with the RN physician and other clinical disciplines to meet the needs of the patient who requires transportation between areas of care within the hospital.
- Demonstrates thorough and complete documentation skills in a timely manner. Appropriately reports changes in patient status to licensed staff.
- Utilizes effective communication skills. Receives and screens in coming requests via phone and other wireless technology. Demonstrates excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills when interacting with patients visitors physicians and/or other health care professionals
- Assists in new staff department orientation.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics.
- Maintains a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards. Knowledgeable of patients rights and respects the rights of the patient to include accepting or refusing medical care.
- Contributes to Carilion Clinics performance improvement activities. Actively participates in obtaining desired service line/ departmental operational excellence targets and scorecard goals
- Maintains oxygen and wheelchairs stretchers transport-chairs transcarts etc.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Licensure Certification and/or Registration: None required. Life Support: Must successfully complete AHA BLS-HCP.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal communication and teamwork skills required.

Compensation Range:
$15.00 - $21.07Employee pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications credentials education and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
