Job Description
Virginia Western Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under the Virginia Community College System a statewide system of community colleges. The College operates under the policies established by the State Board for Community Colleges and the Virginia Western Community College Local Advisory Board. Virginia Western is located on a 70-acre campus in southwest Roanoke VA. The service region of the College includes Roanoke Salem Roanoke County Craig County Franklin County and southern Botetourt County. The College was established in 1966 and has grown from an initial enrollment of 1352 to its current annual enrollment of over 9000 students in credit courses and more than 1400 enrollments in fast-track workforce and continuing education courses. Virginia Western located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of the Roanoke Valley is accepting applications for part-time Radiography clinical instructors in the School of Health Professions. Responsibilities for clinical instructors include: instruction at local hospital/medical center facilities for at least 8 students per day for two or three days a week (no night or weekends) 7:30a.m.-3:30p.m. evaluation of students performance during radiographic procedures evaluation of students knowledge of image production and critique instruct equipment manipulation coordinate student schedules provide tutoring session as needed collect instructional data and serve as liaison between the colleges radiography program and the radiographic imaging department. Clinical instructors are expected to maintain currency in their discipline and in trends in community college education. A drug test and additional healthcare-related background checks are required of selected applicants. Requirements of our clinical partners are considered an essential function of this position and selected applicants must comply with clinical partner expectations.

Two or three days per week (no nights or weekends) 7:30a.m.-3:30p.m.
