THE JOB

We are recruiting for a Climate Planning Advisor to join OSEs Climate Justice team. We are seeking applicants who have demonstrated success advancing racial equity and climate/environmental justice and who have experience working across the public and private sectors. You will use your Climate and Environmental Justice expertise project management skills strong interpersonal skills and diplomacy and political savvy to continue the Citys work to address climate change.

• Strategic Climate and Environmental Justice project/program experience using an equity lens
• Managed complex projects/programs/plans collaborating with and moving the work of internal teams and external partners forward communicating updates and tracking and reporting progress
• Listened communicated clearly using a variety of formats briefings presentations written materials accessible to all audiences
• Facilitated and led groups without formal authority
• Engaged with and worked collaboratively with frontline communities distilling their diverse opinions and perspectives to share with City leadership and inform planning
• Created and analyzed policy
• Demonstrated professional accountability and attention to detail
• Used data to understand the health impact of City decisions codes and rules
• A background in land-use policy zoning or urban planning

A successful applicant will have a professional career that reflects a commitment to addressing climate change in equitable and economically feasible ways. This career orientation should be complemented by qualifications demonstrated in some or most of the following areas:

This job is classified as a Strategic Advisor 2 General Government and the salary range is $56.57-$84.88. Our target range for this position is $69.00-$75.00.

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Individual schedules will be based on agreement between the employee and management.
