Position Summary

The Commercial Lines Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients producers and insurance carriers. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional client service managing commercial insurance accounts coordinating renewals and new business and providing strategic insurance guidance that supports client retention and growth. The position combines hands-on account management technical insurance expertise and relationship management to ensure accurate policy administration and positive client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership & Ownership

Serve as the primary contact between clients producers and insurance carriers.

Provide insurance guidance and coverage recommendations based on client needs.

Act as a subject matter expert on large-market commercial lines products and services.

Coordinate broker presentations fact-finding meetings and client strategy discussions.

Hands-On Execution & Delivery

Prepare and deliver quotations for new and existing business.

Submit bid specifications to insurance carriers and evaluate proposals.

Quote bind underwrite and process renewals and new business accurately and timely.

Issue endorsements and process policy changes.

Coordinate enrollment activities and new case installations.

Reporting Quality & Operational Support

Maintain accurate client records and permanent case files.

Document client inquiries policy activity and communications within agency systems.

Prepare renewal presentations proposals and supporting documentation.

Monitor timelines and ensure service commitments are met.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Integration

Collaborate with management producers clients and carriers to deliver effective solutions.

Negotiate renewal terms and coverage changes with carriers.

Schedule and facilitate client renewal meetings.

Keep leadership informed of renewal results and account developments.

Growth Change & Special Initiatives

Participate in training seminars and professional development activities.

Share industry knowledge market trends and best practices with team members.

Support agency growth initiatives through client retention and account expansion.

Process Improvement & Best Practices

Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.

Promote consistent documentation compliance and account management standards.

Stay current on insurance market developments and carrier offerings.

Accountability

Retaining clients through superior customer service and technical expertise.

Maintaining accurate compliant and timely policy administration.

Delivering effective renewal and new business outcomes.

Building strong relationships with clients producers carriers and internal teams.

Ensuring high-quality documentation and account management practices.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience.

Strong understanding of large-market commercial insurance coverages.

Knowledge of insurance carriers products and marketplace trends.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Customer Representative 440 License minimum.

Preferred

Property & Casualty 220 License.

Experience working in a local insurance agency environment.

Professional insurance designations or continuing education credentials.
