Texas Public Policy Foundation Clerkship Program

The Texas Public Policy Foundation is in search of high caliber legal clerkship candidates interested in working on cutting edge public interest litigation with the Foundations litigation team the Center for the American Future. The Center launches legal challenges at the administrative district and appellate court levels on behalf of ordinary people whose lives liberty and property are threatened by government action in defiance of the Constitution.

Expectations

Law clerks will be assigned to the Foundations litigation center and work directly with its Director and staff attorneys. Clerks gain real world experience working on active litigation matters appellate briefs and amicus briefs in collaboration with our team based on their individual talents and the needs of the Foundation. The Foundation is non-partisan but a broad commitment to advancing individual liberty and limited constitutional government is a must.

Successful Law Clerks

Our clerkship class consists of current law students and recent graduates who are flexible project-oriented self-starters who can work with a wide range of leadership types. Our clerks have gone on to secure positions with state and federal judges the Texas Attorney Generals office the Texas Governors office and within the Foundation itself. The most successful applicants are open-minded and hardworking with good research writing and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to apply mission-centered common sense to a daily routine.

Complete applications should have:

• A cover letter (indicating the semester or summer you are able to clerk in)

• A short bio

• Your resume and

• A writing sample.

Note: Applicants must be current law students or recent graduates.

Compensation

Full time and part time law clerks will be paid a stipend upon completion of their your law school permits were happy to work with you to earn academic credit for your work at the Foundation.
