Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: AS01
Qualifications:
College hours high school diploma or GED
Proficient keyboarding word processing spreadsheets and file maintenance skills
Excellent organization communication and interpersonal skills
Primary Purpose:
Provide clerical assistance as assigned Greet and assist Department visitors and provide clerical assistance as assigned
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain individual employee files.
- Answer department main phone line and transfer calls as necessary.
- Assist with COBRA notification and tracking. Maintains records of retirees with District benefits.
- Assist with tracking of On Leave employees.
- Assist with monthly and annual open enrollment.
- Assist with audit contribution and billing reports. Files or scans Department documents.
- Assist with liability account balancing. Process all name and address changes.
- Assist with computer system maintenance. Send Department faxes.
- Assist with tracking of claims experience. Reserve meeting rooms.
- Maintain retiree benefit records and billing. Order room set-ups food and technology for meetings.
- Maintain Insurance Secretaries roster.
- Maintain Benefits Advisory Committee roster.
- Assist with special projects.
- Greet department visitors.
- Input and send bills to all retirees for elected benefits. Input retiree payments.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer phone printer copier calculator scanner and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Repetitive hand motions standing bending stooping squatting reaching prolonged sitting and lifting up to 30 pounds.
