Job Summary
Make a lasting difference in the lives of young children and their families by joining the North Idaho College Head Start team. We are seeking a passionate collaborative Classroom Teacher in Post Falls who is committed to creating nurturing inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive.
In this role youll implement a developmentally appropriate early childhood curriculum that supports childrens intellectual physical and social-emotional growth while fostering a safe healthy and engaging classroom environment. Working closely with your classroom team youll plan meaningful learning experiences complete child screenings and assessments maintain accurate documentation and support each childs individual developmental needs. Youll build strong partnerships with families through home visits and parent-teacher conferences collaborate with Family Advocates and support staff assist with referrals and specialized services and contribute to efficient center operations. Youll also mentor new team members and volunteers participate in recruitment efforts engage in professional development and help strengthen the Head Start program through committee participation and teamwork.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Level I: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR Associates degree in any other field of study AND: the equivalent of a major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
Level II: Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development OR Bachelors degree in any other field of study AND: the equivalent of a major in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
Experience:
One year experience (256 hours minimum) as a staff or volunteer in a preschool classroom with at least 10 children.
Required License and/or Certifications:
Register with Idaho STARS and participate in the professional development system.
Meet all training and certification requirements for child care licensing and Head Start Program Performance Standards.
Maintain current Infant/child & Adult CPR and First Aid.
Pass an enhanced criminal background check including fingerprinting as required by Head Start Program Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing requirements prior to first day of work.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of computers and commonly used software for Internet and e-mail access word processing and data collection and management.
Positive approach to Early Childhood Development programs health and social services.
Demonstrate professional ethics and confidentiality.
Represent the Head Start program in the community and with other professionals positively and with professionalism.
Starting pay range: $20.63 - $22.00
Pay Grade: 69% FTE (full-time pay)
Work Site Location: Head Start - Post Falls
Work Schedule:August through June
