Are you an HR professional who enjoys analyzing positions partnering with hiring managers or HR partners and helping organizations build effective workforce structures Join the University of Colorado Anschutzs Central HR team as a Classification Consultant and play a key role in ensuring jobs are accurately classified within the universitys classification structures.

As a member of the Talent Acquisition & Classification team youll collaborate with HR partners and hiring managers to provide expert guidance on job evaluation position management FLSA and workforce planning. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to deepen their expertise in classification organizational design and HR consulting while making a meaningful impact within a leading academic medical research institution.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary consultant for job classification and position management within an assigned client portfolio.

Review and evaluate university staff and State of Colorado classified positions to determine appropriate classification.

Advise managers and stakeholders on job design organizational structure and workforce planning solutions that support business needs.

Ensure compliance with federal state and university regulations including FLSA and Colorado Equal Pay requirements.

Analyze and approve position-related transactions within HR systems including job evaluations promotions and position updates.

Deliver exceptional customer service by providing timely consultation clear communication and proactive guidance throughout the classification process.

Develop and facilitate training on job evaluation classification practices and HR systems for managers and stakeholders.

Contribute to Talent Acquisition & Classification initiatives process improvements and special projects that enhance HR service delivery.

Work Location:

Hybrid this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution

  • 1 year of professional level human resources experience advising on job descriptions with hiring managers or assisting with the development of a job description.

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a year for year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in an HRIS (HCM) system

Experience working within a classification structure

Preferred experience working within the University of Colorado Anschutz university staff structure

Experience utilizing AI tools to streamline productivity with a strong ability to refine outputs through iterative prompting

Experience in medical or higher education recruitment

Certification in selection or job evaluation from the State of Colorado or other professional HR certifications (PHR SPHR IPMA SHRM-CP SHRM-SCP).

Conditions of Employment:

Work a Hybrid Schedule: On-campus presence is required for a minimum of two (2) days on campus in the HR office suite.

Sit or stand for extended periods while working in office settings.

Standard shared office environment with open or semi-open workspaces. Employees should expect background noise nearby conversations shared equipment use and occasional odors (e.g. food cleaning products). The environment may involve frequent interruptions requiring the ability to maintain focus and professionalism in a collaborative space.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Ability to analyze interpret and evaluate a broad range of laws rules and regulations in order to exercise good judgment in applying them to human resource challenges.

Knowledge of the professional standards concepts and practices of recruitment and selection employee relations or organizational development and human resource policy.

Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.

Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws and regulations.

Analytical and critical thinking skills.

Excellent organization skills attention to detail and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task.

Ability to actively listen and share relevant information anticipate problems establish and maintain effective working relationships and work effectively with internal and external constituents to satisfy service expectations.

Must possess a professional demeanor and have experience that demonstrates problem solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $60000 - $61000 annually.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
