Job Description

What you will be doing:

Oversee and manage the estimating department across all functions including hard bids negotiated work and design-build opportunities.
Assist in training developing and coaching the estimating team to carry out departmental and project needs.
Participate in company business development efforts and provide feedback on potential project opportunities.
Utilize industry-standard estimating software including HCSS HeavyBid Bluebeam B2W Estimate and related tools for cost estimation project planning and management.
Lead internal estimating strategy planning sessions bid calendar planning and bid reviews.
Maintain and grow strong relationships with subcontractors vendors colleagues and suppliers.
Provide leadership and strategic oversight on bid day reviewing subcontractor quotes and identifying the most competitive and qualified partners.
Lead final bid pricing decisions and submissions with a keen focus on maintaining profitability while staying competitive.
Provide insights on post-bid buyouts and identify areas for cost savings or value engineering.
Conduct business with 100% integrity and professionalism.

Experience you will need:

Bachelors degree in civil engineering construction management or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
15 to 20 years of experience in estimating or construction project management with expertise in specific areas of heavy/highway construction civil site work and public works in the NYC area.
Leadership experience with the ability to successfully mentor and inspire high-performing teams.
Strong understanding of estimating software project management tools and industry standards.
Experience using HCSS B2W and Bluebeam (preferred).
Experience using Microsoft Excel (required).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for interacting with teams clients and stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills to assess project scopes costs and make informed decisions.
Highly proficient in negotiating with subcontractors vendors and clients.
Highly organized self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
A positive attitude for leading teams and driving projects to completion.
