Job Summary
Winning the right work starts with a disciplined and strategic estimating process. A mechanical construction company in Dublin OH is looking for a Chief Estimator to lead the estimating function develop competitive proposals strengthen estimating practices and support growth across design-build and energy projects.
Who are we looking for
- You are a seasoned estimator with 10 years of experience estimating HVAC and/or plumbing projects.
- You are highly proficient in estimating software with strong expertise in QuickPen.
- You have strong technical knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- You are detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to identify discrepancies and project risks.
- You are organized and able to manage competing priorities while meeting demanding deadlines.
- You are an effective collaborator who works well across teams in a results-driven environment.
- You ideally hold a Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline.
Your Responsibilities
- You will assign and prioritize responsibilities across the estimating team for each project ensuring efficiency and accountability.
- You will partner with the Executive Team to evaluate bid opportunities develop the weekly bid calendar and lead bid review sessions.
- You will lead weekly estimating meetings to drive progress maintain alignment and ensure estimates are delivered on schedule.
- You will review project plans and specifications coordinating with the team to confirm complete and accurate scope coverage.
- You will identify and assess project risks and ensure appropriate mitigation strategies are incorporated into estimates.
- You will direct the development and distribution of bid packages including instructions to bidders bid forms and supporting documentation.
- You will lead the transition of successful bids into project execution including project kickoff knowledge transfer and documentation.
- You will conduct periodic project reviews and site visits to validate assumptions support project teams and drive continuous improvement.

To be considered for this role you should have
- 10 years of experience estimating HVAC and/or plumbing projects.
- Strong proficiency in estimating software particularly QuickPen.
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline (preferred).
- Strong organizational interpersonal and cross-team collaboration skills.
- The ability to manage priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card (GC) work authorization.
