Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer is responsible for leading the design development integration and delivery of advanced software and cloud-based solutions supporting space and defense missions. The role oversees software engineering activities system architecture prototype development technical documentation Agile development and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver secure scalable and mission-critical applications.

• Lead the full software development lifecycle from requirements analysis through deployment and support.
• Develop software prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Participate in Agile planning code reviews testing debugging and sprint activities.
• Support system architecture design and engineering decisions.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation including system designs and requirements.
• Recommend software enhancements and system improvements.
• Collaborate with software engineers system engineers architects and cross-functional teams.
• Design and implement secure software solutions and cloud-based applications.
• Support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) activities.
• Develop and integrate space and ground system software solutions.
• Apply cybersecurity best practices throughout software development.
• Utilize version control and Agile development tools.
• Support continuous improvement and adoption of new technologies and engineering methodologies.

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• 10 years of engineering leadership and software development experience.
• Experience with C C# Java/Groovy or Python.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML.
• Experience designing and implementing DoD space systems.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience using GitLab Jira Confluence and modern development environments.
• Strong leadership communication and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
