What Patient Scheduler contributes to Cardinal Health
Practice Operations Management oversees the business and administrative operations of a medical practice.
Patient Schedulers are responsible for booking and managing appointments for patients at a clinic ensuring they see the right doctor at the appropriate time by coordinating schedules and minimizing wait times

Schedule:
8-hour shift Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am - 5:30pm
Responsibilities
Schedules all cycles of infusions and related injections in OncoEMR once authorizations are received.
Coordinates infusions with M.D. /N.P. visits.
Ensures all pertinent paperwork regarding chemotherapy scheduling is completed daily.
Reviews each patient on the schedule every day to ensure treatment and follow-up appointments are scheduled ensuring patient needs are met.
Facilitates effective communication and coordination with patient caregiver healthcare professionals both internal and external and alternative patient settings as necessary when scheduling needs to be adjusted to accommodate patient/physician need.
Ensures patients are contacted prior to appointments to inform them of treatment schedule changes as needed and when appropriate.
Properly coordinates appointments with front desk reception when patient requires physician follow-up and/or RN treatment appointment.
Ensures patient education for both oral and IV chemotherapy is completed and documented with patients and families.
Provides effective clerical support to other departments as requested.
Effectively completes other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in medical background or scheduling preferred
High School Diploma GED or equivalent work experience preferred

Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution
Refers to policies and past practices for guidance
Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments
Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems
Anticipated hourly range:$23.00 per hour - $28.82 per hour
