Job Summary
This posting is for a District Wide full time (8 hour) custodian. Anticipated hours are 3:00pm to 11:30pm.
In-district applicants who are current members of the PSE bargaining group should apply by 3 p.m. September 14 2026 and will receive first consideration. Rate of pay based on the PSE Salary Schedule and experience.
The custodian will maintain attractive sanitary and safe facilities; provide adequate preparations for meetings classroom activities and District approved events; minimize property damage loss and liability exposure by maintaining facility security.

Qualifications
- Valid Washington State Drivers license

Experience Required:
- Prior job-related experience in school or institutional setting
Essential Job Functions:
- Arranges furnishings and equipment for the purpose of providing adequate preparations for meetings classroom activities and events
- Cleans school facilities (i.e. classrooms offices multipurpose rooms grounds etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary safe and attractive environment
- Maintains sidewalks driveways parking areas and steps as appropriate and particularly during inclement weather conditions
- Vacuums classrooms daily and dusts furniture
- Cleans corridors each day
- Scrubs or hoses down floors disinfects toilets daily cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily
- Keeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation
- Delivers varied items (e.g. supplies mail packages furniture etc.) for the purpose of distributing materials to the appropriate parties
- Informs students other site personnel and supervisor for the purpose of providing information regarding activities safety and/or proper maintenance of facilities
- Monitors heating system in building
- Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage loss and liability and ensuring safety at work site
- Works with students in setting up facility for assemblies
- Serves as contact point for alarm center
- Consistently deals with people in a courteous and professional manner
- Complies with local and federal laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of cleaning chemicals trash rubbish and waste
- Reports to the principal any damage to school property
- Remains on the school premises during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his/her attendance is required by the principal
- Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
- Repairs furniture and equipment for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition
- Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items as needed to properly maintain facilities
- Performs essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Uses forklift to unload supplies/materials
- Completes work at assigned workstations
- Performs other duties as assigned

Compensation and Benefits:
Employee Compensation and Benefits are outlined in the PSE Collective Bargaining Agreement.
