Carpenter Company has an immediate opening for a Checker/Loader Forklift Operator at their Temple TX manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently unloading/loading trucks; performing final quality checks on finished products and loading on trailer per customer requirements.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate with management excel in customer service skills and work well position will ensure the proper loading of material on trucks to maximize usage of space; thus requiring the safe operation of a forklift.

Main Duties:

  • Load and check trucks correctly
  • Operate a forklift safely
  • Follow all safety rules and stacking procedures
  • Inspect trailers for damage
  • Use loading tickets and manifests to verify shipments
  • Enter and track inventory information in the computer system
  • Keep the work area safe and clean
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Forklift Experience preferred (certification provided by Carpenter Co.)
  • Shipping / Receiving or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic computer reading writing and math skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Detail-orientated and able to work independently
  • Able to work overtime weekends holidays and flexible hours when needed
