Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse (RN) youll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care LTC or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

Every day you will advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential which aligns with your departments operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role you need to be accountable and confident. Youre an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. Its also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

  • Mentors others in areas such as competency documentation equipment use plan of care National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG) and participation in inservice education.
  • Provides direct patient care as appropriate to meet the needs of the patients and department.
  • Evaluates care given by staff.
  • Coaches staff to improve care.
  • Ensures standards of care is maintained.
  • Exhibits a general understanding of the process for dealing with ethical dilemmas and understands and coordinates the process for obtaining an Ethics Consult.
Job Requirements

  • Registered Nurse: AZ
  • American Heart Association Certifications
    • Basic Life Support - (BLS)
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Stable Program within 12 - months

Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Nursing and Two (2) years RN experience within applicable clinical specialty and/or
  • Charge Nurse experience
