Job Summary
Position: Take-Off Technician/Estimator
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $2000-$3000 per month

About the role:
The Take-off Technician / Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for excavation and sitework projects. This role plays a critical part in developing competitive complete bids by analyzing plans specifications and supporting documents.
This position is expected to leverage modern tools including AI-assisted workflows to improve speed accuracy and consistency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented resourceful and comfortable working with incomplete information while making sound practical assumptions.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform accurate quantity take-offs from civil plans grading plans and specifications Develop detailed cost estimates using plans reports and historical data Utilize AI tools to assist with take-offs and document review while validating all outputs Maintain cost databases and project history for consistency
Assemble and submit complete bid packages
Identify scope gaps conflicts and cost-saving opportunities
Coordinate with project managers subcontractors and suppliers
Cross-check work for accuracy using manual and AI-supported methods Maintain organized documentation of all estimates and assumptions Provide regular progress updates and flag risks or missing information Continuously improve workflows tools and accuracy
Requirements:
Remote work capability with a reliable home office setup
Personal computer and office equipment required
Ability to work a standard 40-hour week with additional time as needed Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret construction documents Ability to make reasonable assumptions when information is incomplete Willingness to adopt and use AI-assisted tools in daily workflows
Experience working with CAD files and performing take-offs
Civil engineering background preferred
Minimum 3 years of estimating experience
Experience with Agtek (preferred but not required)
