Job Description:
Work Schedule: Night shift 40 hours per week. This typically consists of 8-hour shifts though 12-hour shifts may be an option. Every other weekend is required.
## Core Responsibilities
Sterile Technique: Practice expert surgical scrub techniques and maintain asepsis throughout procedures to prevent infection.
Surgical Assistance: Help the surgeon with gowning gloving and draping. Proactively pass instruments sutures and medical equipment during delivery room procedures.
Safety & Accountability: Conduct meticulous counts of sponges needles and instruments. Identify and report potential hazards (chemical gas or equipment-related) within the OR.
Technical Support: Assist with suctioning retracting and suturing under the direct guidance of the surgeon.
Efficiency: Manage the turnover of the delivery room between cases and ensure all supplies are assembled according to surgeon preference cards.
Specimen Handling: Properly identify and process medical specimens according to hospital policy.
## Requirements & Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
Certifications: You must hold a valid BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) HSI or the client.
Experience: Previous experience in an Operating Room (OR) is highly preferred.
Specialized Background: The manager prefers candidates dedicated Scrub Technician experience.
Essential Skills: High attention to detail strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a high-stakes clinical environment.
