Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Certified Scrub Technician to join our surgical team in Chesapeake (Carmichael) VA. The ideal candidate will assist surgeons and operating room staff by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures ensuring patient safety and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments equipment and sterile drapes.
  • Assist surgeons and surgical staff during procedures by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and accounted for before and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs and respond promptly during surgeries.
  • Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate records as required.
  • Participate in inventory management and restocking of surgical supplies.
  • Comply with all hospital policies safety regulations and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Current certification as a Scrub Technician (CST) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a surgical or operating room environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare-related education is a plus.
Work Environment

This position is based in Chesapeake (Carmichael) VA within a hospital or surgical center setting. The role requires standing for extended periods and working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.
