Job Summary

SUMMARYThe Certified Peer Specialist works as part of the Intensive Residential Treatment Service team which provides care and treatment for persons who are experiencing significant mental health/psychiatric symptoms who are demonstrating significant functional impairments and who may have co-occurring substance use disorders. Certified Peer Support Specialists are fully integrated team members who provide individualized and group services in the residence and the community and promote person served self-determination and decision making. Certified Peer Support Specialists also provide essential expertise and consultation to the entire team to promote a culture in which each persons point of view and preferences are recognized understood respected and integrated into treatment rehabilitation and community self-help JOB FUNCTIONSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed to provide peer-recovery peers with assessing their unique strengths and peers with identifying developing and working towards recovery peers with developing self-advocacy peers identify and access appropriate professional education for team members regarding the recovery in implementing and the development of individual treatment in care coordination meetings as as a link to community resources teaches and models client self-advocacy and acts as a community liaison/ significant/major incidents or administration and to data privacy practices/ in discharge professional competency in the documentation of treatment objective verbal and written critical incident essential activities related to licensure welfare and duties as RESPONSIBILITIESNoneMinimum Knowledge and Skills required for the JobThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or abilities required to perform the job. Education and Experience: A GED or high school diploma is of Arts degree in one of the Behavioral Sciences or Human Services Licenses and Registrations:Must be at least 21 years a valid Drivers License and car completion of the MN Department of Human Services approved Certified Peer Support Specialist training and certification Skills and Abilities:Have or had a primary diagnosis of mental a current or former consumer of mental health services and/or experience in the field while maintaining professional dedication to promoting recovery opportunities in the lives of ability to utilize own lived experience of recovery to inspire recovery in the lives of to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel internal and external to the customer service be able to work independently as well as part of a to prioritize meet deadlines and with using company meet all agency requirements for pre-employment as required by SpringPath and/or MN State Requirements:Travel as Requirements:Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move Range: $21-22
