Job Summary
- Assists residents with activities of daily living
- Accurately and safely prepares and administers oral ophthalmic optic nasal rectal and topical medications prescribed by the physician.
- Verifies the identity of the resident before administering medication or treatment; checks the medication three times before administering for correct resident drug and dosage form route and accurate time and frequency (e.g. 1 hour after meals)
- Ensures that all medications administered are properly labeled.
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Completion of a recognized Medication Administration course is a plus
- 1 year experience or training working with older adults or in the retirement housing industry is preferred
