Job Summary
Under the direction of the Athletic Director the Certified Athletic Trainer provides preventive emergency and rehabilitative care to student-athletes participating in high school athletic programs. The Certified Athletic Trainer works collaboratively with coaching staff team physicians and consulting medical professionals to support student health and safety and performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of:- Principles of anatomy kinesiology physiology nutrition and first aid.- Prevention recognition and treatment of athletic injuries.- Physical fitness hygiene and safety procedures related to athletic programs.- Safety and protective athletic equipment.- Taping bandaging therapeutic and rehabilitative techniques.- Disinfection and sanitation procedures.- General principles of training supervision and work direction.- Individualized rehabilitation and reconditioning techniques.- First aid and CPR practices.- Oral and written communication skills.- Record-keeping and report preparation to:- Instruct students in proper exercise rehabilitation and injury-prevention techniques.- Operate first aid rehabilitation and adaptive athletic equipment.- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff parents and medical professionals.- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
