Job Summary
Buncombe County is seeking a Centralized Data Entry (CDE) Supervisor to join the Identification Bureau a 22member division supporting public safety operations. This position reports directly to Oscar Wooten IV Identification Bureau Director and oversees a team of 412 employees while working closely with two peer supervisors to maintain accurate and efficient centralized data entry processes. The typical schedule for this role is 2:0010:00 p.m. or 3:0011:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with primary work taking place onsite at 59 Woodfin Asheville NC 28801.
The ideal candidate will meet the required competencies outlined in the job description and possess or obtain ICSand 800 certifications as well as DCI certification and CJIS access within six months. The expected hiring timeline is July 30. This position begins fully in person with the potential for a hybrid schedule after the employee demonstrates strong performance and reliability. Employees must reside within or relocate to a twohour drive of 59 Woodfin Place Asheville NC within six months of hire.

Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to provide technical support and supervisory work in the Agencys Centralized Data EntryDivision (CDE).
Typical Work Schedule:
M-F (2pm - 10pm) or (3pm-11pm)
Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in the Department and County attendance policies and procedures.
Regular predictable attendance is essential.
On call rotation with other supervisor including 24/7 nights weekends holidays and during emergencies.
Minimum Education Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire):
Associates degree in criminal justice PublicAdministration or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in criminal justice/public safety including aminimum of three (3) years in a supervisory role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Training and Experience: ICSand 800 DCI certifications preferred
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Appointment of North Carolina Notary Public within 6 monthsof hire. CJIS access within 6 months
Physical Requirements: The work is primarily medium work requiring exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/orup to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally the followingphysical abilities are required: balancing climbing crawling crouching feeling fingering grasping handling hearingkneeling lifting mental acuity pulling pushing reaching repetitive motion speaking standing stooping talking visualacuity and walking.
Supervisory/Leadership Responsibilities: Supervise a group of employees with responsibility for assignment andflow of work employee development appraisal and eliminating ordinary difficulties. Work activities likely affect theaccuracy reliability or acceptability of services to the extent that others rely on the advice given to make decisions.
Essential Functions of the position:
Maintain electronic data and equipment for CDE.
Schedule staff to maintain coverage on a 24/7 basis including nights holidays weekends and during emergencies;provide day-to-day supervision.
Provide training on the use of computer equipment for bureau employees.
Collect data analyze and prepare reports.
Manage financial responsibilities.
Collect incoming property and supplies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Knowledge of operation of computer equipment and accompanying technology including but not limited tomonitors desktop computers printers and other external devices.
Ability to pass a Division of Criminal Information (DCI) criminal background check which includes beingfingerprinted.
Ability to research and maintain a level of knowledge of new technology and equipment.
Ability to train others in the use of computer equipment and related technology and/or software.
Ability to maintain courteous and tactful relationships with co-workers and the public.
