Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:Assists in the implementation of an early childhood preschool program by providing a safe learning environment for children through a structure conducive to young childrens learning.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in Early Childhood Education preferred
  • First Aid and CPR certification obtainable upon hire

EXPERIENCE: One year of successful experience working with preschool children and their parents

  • Shows a willingness to integrate special needs children into the preschool program.
  • Displays enthusiasm flexibility and understanding in motivating young children.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills with children staff and parents.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse family structures and styles.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

PERSONAL

  • Works well with others maintaining positive and effective communication with CE/School personnel and participants.
  • Contributes to creating a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrates integrity and respects confidentiality.
  • Arrives on time and works consistently until the end of his/her schedule day.

PROFESSIONAL

  • Assists with the implementation of a quality preschool program for young children.
  • Participates in training opportunities as required.
  • Participates in parent programming as required such as parent conferences and parent meetings.
  • Located at assigned elementary school or community facility.
  • District-wide as requested for supervision and professional meetings.
  • Personal contacts with participants and parents community education staff school professional and support staff Community groups and volunteers
  • Provide supervision of participants
  • Perform other duties as required by the Preschool Coordinator and/or Early Childhood Coordinator.

Work Hours: Tuesday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 Monday/month (12-4)
