Job Summary

Responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances typically across state lines.
1.00 dollar per mile/ 1500-mile guarantee a week for 1 year

Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects the truck pre- and post-trip.
- Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets fuel consumption logs daily log sheets bills of lading vehicle trip records and expense reports.
- Ensures all cargo is loaded checked and safely secured during transit.
- Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of cargo to ensure secure transit.
- Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents.
- Monitors the maintenance and repair of the truck.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing the company positively.
- Responsible for following all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Requires a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) and appropriate endorsements.
- Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and maintain a complete US DOT driver qualification file.
- 1 years recent commercial delivery-driving experience.
- Valid state-issued drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Capacity to demonstrate reliability adaptability and dependability.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of OTR driving experience.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution manufacturing technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Possess specialized skills for managing hazardous materials.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
- Travel across various states.
- Flexible shifts with the capability to undertake overnight trips 1-2 nights per week. (**is this more like 3-4 because of the long distance**).
- Comfortable sitting and driving for extended periods.
- Various weather conditions.
- The ability to lift push and/or pull up to 85 lbs. if necessary.
