Role Overview

A regional retail freight operation based out of Odessa TX is seeking CDL-A drivers for Family Dollar store deliveries throughout the Southwest region. Drivers will haul dry freight while performing physical unloads using gravity rollers at customer locations. This position is ideal for drivers who prefer hands-on work consistent freight and weekly home time.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport dry freight to retail store locations across regional routes
• Deliver freight throughout Eastern TX NM AZ Southern NV Southern UT and Southern CO
• Unload freight using gravity rollers at customer locations
• Complete an average of 23 loads per week with 26 stops per load
• Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Accurately maintain logs and delivery documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customer locations

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A license required
• Ability to handle touch freight and roller unload deliveries
• Comfortable with physically demanding unloading work
• Strong safety mindset and reliable attendance
• Ability to operate safely in varying weather and traffic conditions
• Ability to work flexible schedules based on freight demand
• Drivers must have access to a secure truck parking location approved by management

Compensation & Benefits

• Average weekly pay: $1500
• CPM pay structure based on experience
• Additional unload pay averaging $285 per load
• Average 23 loads per week

Pay Breakdown

• 01 years: $0.56 CPM
• 2 years: $0.57 CPM
• 3 years: $0.58 CPM

Route Information

• Regional retail freight operation

Schedule & Home Time

• Weekly 34-hour reset
• Home time day may vary based on freight demand
• Regional routes with consistent freight volume

Training Information

• Drivers complete approximately 3 loads with a mentor
• Training lasts approximately 1 to 1.5 weeks
• Drivers paid $200/day during training
• Drivers assigned trucks after successful training completion

Equipment

• Trucks may be taken home if parked in a secure approved location
