DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES(NOTE: *denotes Essential Functions):

  1. *Produce and livestream PlayVS league matches for UH Esports teams competing in Valorant Overwatch 2 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Rocket League.
  2. *Complete pre-broadcast preparation for each scheduled broadcast including creating or preparing broadcast packages match information graphics overlays and other materials needed for a professional livestream.
  3. *Operate the broadcast including match coverage transitions production elements and monitoring the broadcast for technical issues.
  4. *Complete closing and post-production work after each broadcast including ending the stream organizing broadcast materials uploading VODs and completing other necessary wrap-up tasks.
  5. *Communicate proactively and professionally with UH Esports team leaders captains and relevant program staff to determine which matches are available and appropriate for broadcast. Confirm match schedules availability opponents and any changes that may affect broadcast plans.
  6. *Provide additional broadcast coverage when UH Esports teams qualify for PlayVS playoffs or other postseason competition. Playoff coverage may require additional broadcasts adjusted schedules and coordination with team leaders and program staff based on team advancement and PlayVS scheduling.
  7. Conduct basic troubleshooting and resolve routine broadcast or streaming issues when possible while communicating significant technical problems to UH Esports staff.
  8. Represent UH Esports in a professional manner during all broadcasts and communications with student-athletes opposing teams league representatives and viewers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Possession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and 1 year of experience in eSports.
  2. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  3. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes team leaders captains coaches and UH Esports staff.
  4. Experience with livestreaming esports broadcasting or live event production preferred.
  5. Familiarity with esports titles and competitive gaming environments particularly Valorant Overwatch 2 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and/or Rocket League.
  6. Ability to work independently manage broadcast preparation tasks and meet scheduled broadcast times.
  7. Basic technical troubleshooting skills and comfort working with streaming/broadcast software and hardware.
  8. Ability to adapt to schedule changes and provide additional coverage when teams advance to playoffs.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Previous experience supporting esports programs or competitive gaming events within a higher education environment.
