Casemaker Operator

Set up adjust and operate the Crathern Casemaker while leading/mentoring a Material Handler who isjogging the cases and piling them down at the end of the machine. Inspect equipment for safety to be familiar with the viscosity of the animal glue utilized and be able to adjust if quality output and productivity with cases that will be applied to hardcover Rate:$24.93 (Base $23.30 7% Shift Differential)Hours:6pm-6am M/T/F/S/S/W/ThLocation: 2347 Kratzer Rd; Harrisonburg VA 22802 and 1025 Willow Springs Rd; Harrisonburg VA 22801Qualifications:General knowledge of complex machinery with the ability to effectively troubleshootissues when ability to read and understand measurements utilizing a line gauge to ensure productis in a good understanding of computer programs and the ability to enter accurate datainto these to read and interpret written work orders or other job specifications containingbindery requirements which indicate the number and sequence of machine operationsrequired to complete the work and to maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance withinstructions of the quality and machining requirements of various coated and uncoatedtypes of paper stock. Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations and to refine suchadjustments for the weight color machinability and quality of paper stock being usedand to prevent machining impressions on the case materials. Skill in using the full range of standard and specialized tools and devices to adjust andmaintain the functional accuracy and operating condition of the Crathern requires ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of forceconstantly to move objectsAt Lakeside Book Company we value craftsmanship and collaboration by encouraging employees to improve their skills and capabilities.
