Position Summary:

  • Full Time/Part Time/PRN: Full-time rotating schedule including weekends

  • Compensation: $25-30
  • Travel/Location: Onsite local to Spokane area

Mission of Role/Position Summary:

The Emergency Management Case Manager & Leads will provide compassionate survivor-centered case management services that empower individuals and families affected by disasters to navigate available assistance programs overcome recovery barriers and achieve safe sustainable recovery through coordinated support resource advocacy and community partnerships.

Tasks Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as a part of the Case Management team and perform all duties as assigned.
  • Attend meetings and conference calls with clients and homeowners
  • Attend training on program requirements and apply all policies and procedures as required.
  • Learn navigate and effectively use program technology systems including adapting to system updates changes and new tools as needed to support case management activities.
  • Manage individual workload of case management.
  • Ensure productivity and communications that enable accurate efficient and compliant program processing and tracking.
  • Understand program needs policies departmental process flows and standard operating procedures.
  • Review records for inconsistencies investigate and resolve issues with analysis and customer service skills.
  • Communicate resolve and escalate problems and concerns according to proper protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
  • Capable of multi-tasking when necessary.
  • Strong familiarity with state and local governments is necessary.
  • Highly organized detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to adapt to and effectively navigate technology systems including platforms that undergo frequent updates or changes.
  • Ability to independently navigate provided resources and guidance to identify solutions and resolve issues with clients.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25% travel is expected for this position.
  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
  • Ability to manipulate up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Working Environment:

  • Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • This position requires onsite work in Spokane WA with specific work locations varying based on program and operational needs. Employees may be required to report to different client or program locations on different days.

Requirements

Experience/Education Required:

  • At least one year of professional case management social services emergency management or disaster recovery experience.
  • At least one year experience documenting client services and maintaining confidential records.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience/Education Preferred:

  • Associate degree or higher in social services
  • Case management experience with housing program

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
