Job Summary
Core Government Services (CGS) is hiring a Carpenter and Maintenance Work Group Leader (WGL) to support the Role Play Branch at the U.S. Armys Joint Readiness Training Center Fort Polk LA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Our Carpenter / Maintenance Work Group Leader (WGL) is an essential teammate while supporting diverse Role Play Branch operations. Our Carpenter and Maintenance WGL responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Production and completion of all assigned Carpenter/Maintenance cell tasks.
- Performs carpentry and general maintenance duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins cribs counters benches partitions doors floors stairs casings and trim made of wood.
- Plans work from blueprints drawings models or verbal instructions using a variety of carpenters hand tools portable power tools and standard measuring instruments; making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work; and selecting materials necessary for the work.
- Success requires diverse and professional skills usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and work experience.
- Exceeds all safety and Quality Control standards during the production and completion of Carpenter/Maintenance cell tasks.
- Responsible for maintaining and security of all assigned Carpenter/Maintenance equipment.
- Must be able to simulate Host Nation citizens officials or employees of various replicated construction companies during training exercises.
- Rotates shift work between both day and/or night shifts as required; all other duties as required.
- High School or equivalent diploma with preference for formal trade skills training.
- Two or more years in construction and carpentry work.
- Previous management / leadership experience directly supervising collaborative team projects.
- Business office experience including tasks such as task and time management resource planning and utilization and familiarity of Microsoft 365 efficiency products including Word Excel Power Point Office etc.
- Excellent physical condition with ability to perform the following:
- Work indoors or outdoors in all local climatic conditions.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Walk 1/2 mile over uneven terrain without assistance.
- Work while sitting or standing for prolonged periods.
- Wear all required uniforms clothing and equipment to include Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) equipment.
- Must have a DOD Secret or higher security clearance. WGLs may begin working with an interim Secret clearance.
- Individual must submit to and pass initial drug screening; will be subject to random drug screening.
- Must possess a valid Louisiana State Drivers License (or equivalent).
- Must be able to work during day or night shifts including weekends.
- Proficient in standard military terminology and radio procedures is preferred.
- Must be able to pass First Responder training and certification.
- Proficient at operating a computer and smart phone blogging texting and perform other necessary social media applications.
LOCATION: Our team primarily works at urban training locations inside the Fort Polk training area. Our team may be exposed to load noise various weather conditions and outdoor conditions including the use of temporary portable restrooms.
