Help seniors and adults remain comfortable and supported at home. Assisting Hands Home Care Merrillville is seeking dependable caregivers to provide non-medical one-on-one care to clients in Hammond and nearby communities.

Responsibilities
Depending on each clients individualized care plan you may:
- Assist with bathing dressing grooming toileting eating and other personal care needs
- Support safe walking and transfers according to the care plan and your training
- Assist clients with walkers wheelchairs and other mobility equipment
- Provide companionship conversation and social engagement
- Prepare meals and help with light housekeeping laundry and organization
- Offer medication reminders; this role does not include medication administration
- Observe and report changes in client condition appearance or behavior
- Use our mobile app to clock in and out communicate with the office and document care
- Follow infection prevention practices safety procedures and agency policies
- Maintain client dignity confidentiality and professional conduct
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least two years of paid caregiving experience in a home care setting or a similar paid caregiving role required
- Reliable transportation valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance
- Current CPR certification and TB test required before a client assignment
- Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling communication and documentation
- Dependable attendance clear communication and a compassionate professional approach
Schedule and Work Location
This is an hourly non-exempt position providing care in clients homes in Hammond and nearby communities.
Schedules and hours depend on client needs your qualifications and your availability.
