About the Role

We are seeking a Career Services Specialist/Manager within the Postdoctoral and Graduate Student Education and Research Development Affairs unit (PGERDA) in People Services. Working closely with the Director the specialist will serve as the primary contact for career servicesleading innovating and managing all career services and programs.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong expertise in modern digital methods of career service delivery and has experience building successful collaborations.

This role supports a diverse audience of learners including graduate students postdocs research associates and graduate alumni.

What You Will Do

• Develops designs and builds content for the various career development services including Career Exploration Assessment and Planning; Career Readiness and Job Search Tools Resume Writing Interview Preparation and Negotiation.
• Leads and organizes career development events for academic career pathways industry research positions and science related careers.
• Provides individual advising appointments professional networking resources and events for all early career scientists.
• Creates and presents workshops to meet professional development and learning outcomes in partnership with the Director.
• Contributes to sustaining and enhancing an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Coordinates career support services with our partners and affiliates as well as post-surveys for effectiveness evaluation purposes.
• Tracks and maintains our alumni network of early career scientists for reporting purposes.
• Provides individual career counseling and coaching advise on job presentations provide professional development support networking opportunities walk-in advising open office hours and mock interviews for graduate and professional school internships and full-time employment.
• Represents Gladstone at associations and meetings.
• Curates and maintains career opportunities resources.

What You Will Need

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and 5 years of experience in higher education professional schools career services advising recruiting training and professional development.
• Masters degree or PhD preferred with 2 years of experience in career development and planning and career advising.
• Proven ability in program planning and implementation communication and teamwork with an ability to create recognizable series and events that create value and impact beyond Career Services.
• Demonstrated advising skills and cultural competence to work with a diverse range of students/postdocs with the ability to support graduate students postdoctoral fellows and alumni who are applying to a variety of careers.
• Outstanding presentation skills in different formats and for different audiences with comfort creating digital content (e.g. social media) and resources.

What Is Preferred

• Experience working with higher education students with domain knowledge in life sciences in a corporate or academic environment.
• Ability to create innovative programming reflecting the changing needs of students/postdocs including usage of new technologies and tools (including AI).
• Quick learner with the ability to assimilate and collaborate across teams with demonstrated relationship-building and networking skills.
• Ability to think big with a can-do attitude.

Salary Range:

$85-$100K
