Cardiovascular Surgery Physician Assistant

• Sign on bonus: $20000 Sign-on bonus for provider with 2 years direct cardiac surgery experience including proficiency with Endovascular Vein Harvesting

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated advanced practice provider to join an employed position within a busy well-respected practice supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network.

• Join an established team of 12 APPs
• Schedule: (4) 10-hour shifts/week
• Call structure: Daily Weekend and Holiday On-Call assignments are split evenly among a team of 12 surgical PAs.
• Practice setting: inpatient supporting Carmel and Indianapolis
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Advanced Practice Provider
• Eligible for state medical licensure and DEA registration
• Execute precise endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting to provide high-quality conduits directly impacting the long-term success of revascularization procedures.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the Indiana Physician Assistant Committee obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Masters degree preferred.

Work Experience:

• 1 year of experience preferred.

• Endoscopic Vein & Radial Artery harvest using the Maquet Vasoview Hemopro I and/or Hemopro II systems.
• Surgical First assistant: cases include CABG aortic and mitral valve repair/replacement ECMO Insertion VAD insertion & heart transplant cases.
