Department Overview

The full-time annual base salary range for this position is $425000-$527988; commensurate with experience and rank. Base pay does not include incentive pay hiring bonuses or additional benefits such as retirement contributions.

The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting-edge care to patients. Specifically research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease more accurate monitoring of its progression and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease.

The general cardiology position in particular will be at our satellite hospital partner St. John Medical Center in Longview Washington. St. John Medical Center is a 193-bed acute care hospital and level 3 trauma center with a group of primary care and specialty physicians with clinics within the area. Forbes Magazine has named Longview one of the prettiest American cities and a Tree City USA and an ideal location on the Columbia River. The city is next to beautiful forests and is just 40 miles north of Portland Oregon 2 hours south of Seattle and a short drive to the beautiful Pacific coastline and year-round adventures on Mt. Hood Mt. Rainier Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams. Function/Duties of Position

You will work clinically as a general cardiologist within the community hospital of St. John Medical Center as part of six Cardiologists (two Interventionalists three General Cardiology and one Electrophysiologist) as well as three Advanced Practice Cardiology Clinicians and a robust support staff. This will be for a 1.0 FTE at St. John Medical Center with OHSU academic involvement as an OHSU employee.

Educational: You will be expected to participate in the clinical and educational development of the general cardiology fellows at OHSU.

Required Qualifications
  • Licensed MD with an active Oregon and Washington license upon hire
  • Board Certified in Cardiology board eligible/certified in General Cardiology
  • DEA certification
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience would be preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have expertise and comfort in general cardiology coverage including cardiac CT interpretation
