Job Summary
This role is accountable for the administration and strategic management of North America manufacturings capital and expense planstotaling more than $100MM annuallyand serves as the critical liaison between these plans and the assigned manufacturing plants. The CAPEX and Portfolio Manager oversees all 15 plants and collaborates closely with Plant Managers Plant Engineers Plant Controllers Regional Finance Managers and other key stakeholders to ensure optimal utilization of capital and expense allocations in alignment with organizational objectives.
This position is responsible for monthly and quarterly financial close reporting and forecasting activities for both North America Regional and O-I Corporate management. These responsibilities demand a strong understanding of accounting principles tax implications and compliance with quarter-end and year-end requirements.
The role also includes full administration of the 901E system encompassing the review creation and approval of more than 400 submissions annually for the North America region. Furthermore the CAPEX and Portfolio Manager serves as the sole regional resource for SAP project systems functioning as both Regional Investment Manager (RIM) and Regional Project Coordinator (RPC) to ensure accurate and efficient execution of capital and expense projects.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee capital and expense planning forecasting reporting and budgeting for assigned plants on a monthly quarterly and annual basis ensuring effective prioritization of business needs.
- Lead the annual DBB operating expense budgeting process in collaboration with the AMN Engineering team.
- Support and/or lead the development review and implementation of scope schedule and cost components for major and minor capital projects at assigned plants.
- Administer the PSR system by reviewing authoring approving tracking canceling and closing funding requests across multiple plant sites.
- Participate in regional and global technical review processes for major and minor projects as required by engineering management and global standards.
- Partner closely with Regional Finance and key manufacturing stakeholders to advance projects that support regional strategic objectives.
- Facilitate monthly meetings with plant teams process areas and PMS to align forecasts and optimize the project portfolio.
- Collaborate with tax and incentive teams to evaluate potential grants and credits by state.
- Manage vendor and accounts payable relationships to ensure accurate and timely processing of payments and purchase orders.
- Maintain up-to-date financial and vendor records within the MDM system.
- Generate purchase requisitions for the hot repair team and provide emergency support to plants as needed.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding payments and orders with accounts payable and vendors.
- Coordinate with plant teams and internal accounting to review and ensure compliance with FA8 and FA16 SOX controls.
- Lead the development and ownership of tools for monthly plant spend forecasting in PowerApps.
- Align monthly with leadership on overall spend and project prioritization.
- Manage the capital lease program in partnership with external banks and the treasury department.
- Monitor and control the issuance of capital lease purchase orders on a daily basis.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to project execution and portfolio management communicating findings to the Corporate Capital team.
- Conduct scenario planning to support additional spending needs and ensure forecast accuracy in alignment with strategic goals.
- Assist plant and corporate project teams with fixed asset evaluation and the initiation of depreciation processes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Finance required
- Project engineering experience required
- Project Management experience desired
- Project construction Owners Representative experience desired
- Project accounting experience desired
- Glass container manufacturing experience (plant) desired with working knowledge of glass plant process
- Experience on managing CAPEX projects required
- Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing industries or finance / process / engineering

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position will be between $105000 - $125000. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
