Campus Safety Aide (GCS2- Historic South Central)

The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central. GCS has garnered accolades including the States Distinguished School Award and Exemplary Arts Program Award the California Honor Roll California Gold Ribbon Award the Title 1 Achievement Award California Pivotal Practice Award the California Charter School of the Year award and a ranking by USC as one of the best charter schools in California. GCS has also been recognized for its success in serving students with disabilities and under-resourced 2020 Innovate Public Schools in partnership with USC ranked GCS1 as a top public middle school for low-income Latinx students in English and math and ranked GCS1 and GCS2 as top public elementary schools for low-income Latinx students in English and math.

Campus Safety Aides are an integral part of Gabriella Charter Schools student safety and supervision program. The primary role of a Campus Safety Aide is to monitor hallways and support positive student behavior. The Campus Safety Aide will work closely with the Dean of Student Culture and Student Culture Coordinator to appropriately supervise students across the school day by monitoring students in the hallway and ensuring students follow appropriate out-of-classroom behavior expectations. The Campus Safety Aide plays a vital role in reinforcing the schools culture and expectations through student supervision building relationships with students and constant communication and collaboration with the Dean of Student Culture and Student Culture Coordinator.
